Castleward Opera is delighted to announce the programme for its milestone 25th season of making music on the shores of Strangford Lough.

Our main offering in the 2009 season will be Johann Strauss’s magical operetta, Die Fledermaus, the Bat. This is a hilarious romp through Viennese high society, a tale of infidelity, mistaken identity, punctured pomposity and eventual comeuppance. With a hatful of unforgettable melodies, from the Hymn to Champagne to the Folk Dances of Prince Orlowski, and of course the unforgettable Strauss waltzes, this is a work which has been delighting audiences for a hundred and fifty years.

Tickets for the June season will be on sale early in 2009, we will advise you when the Box Office will open. As always, it makes sense to book early, we expect enormous demand for this celebratory season.
